Dr. Aziza Askari, DMD, MBA, MAGD - Cosmetic Dentist

After earning her undergraduate degree in Pharmacology at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Dr. Aziza Askari was accepted into the prestigious Temple University School of Dentistry. There she earned a combination Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) / Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Dr. Askari completed her Advanced Education in General Dentistry postgraduate program at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Dr. Askari is dedicated to meeting your individual needs with warmth and compassion and is eager to help you love every aspect of your smile. Dr. Askari loves her work and is passionate about providing the services her patients want and need to stay healthy. In addition to providing a full range of general dentistry treatments, she enjoys helping people with TMJ disorder solutions, sleep apnea treatments, and migraine relief. Getting you – and keeping you – out of pain is her greatest reward.

Dr. Askari was bestowed the Top Dentist Award by Hour Detroit Magazine and is a member of the American Association of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists, the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. She is a Master with the Academy of General dentistry which represents her dedication to continuing education for the benefit of her patients.

Dr. Askari is certified as a sedation dentist by the Dental Organization of Conscious Sedation. She’s also a certified Invisalign, Fast Braces, Six Month Smiles, Botox, and facial fillers provider.

Dr. Elizabeth Biggs - Board Certified Orthodontist

Born and raised a Michigander, Dr. Elizabeth (Lizzy) Biggs achieved a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience with a minor in art at the University of Miami before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Michigan. She then achieved her masters in orthodontics and orthodontics certification at the University of Michigan. She is a board-certified orthodontist and an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Michigan Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and Michigan Dental Association.

Passionate about the diagnosis, prevention, interception, and treatment of all forms of malocclusion of the teeth and associated impacts on their surrounding structures, Dr. Lizzy loves helping her patients prevent, treat, and rectify an expansive array of orthodontic issues to achieve and maintain optimum harmony among facial and cranial structures. Dr. Lena Akkad - Board Certified Orthodontist

Specializing in orthodontics was a natural choice for Dr. Lena Akkad. She completed her orthodontics residency program in 2022 from Detroit Mercy, igniting her fervor for treating smiles with a patient-centric approach and providing friendly and compassionate care.

Dr. Akkad is focused on improving, enhancing, and transforming her patients’ smile esthetic and function with customized care that addresses an array of bite and crowding issues, misalignment concerns, and more. Passionate about oral health education and all aspects of orthodontic care, she’ll listen closely to your needs and goals, develop a customized plan to help, and will always prioritize your well-being and satisfaction through every step of the process!

When she’s not caring for smiles, Dr. Akkad enjoys working out at the gym, practicing Pilates, and playing tennis. She also loves spending time with family, socializing with friends, reading books, and watching documentaries.

Dedicated to giving back, she’s also deeply committed to charitable work and provides free dental care at a clinic in Malta, Detroit. She also participates in yearly mission trips to Jordan, where she provides dental care to Syrian refugees.

Dr. Louis Vaupotic - General Dentist

Before moving to Michigan to pursue dentistry, Dr. Louis Vaupotic, born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Windsor. He later attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Additionally, Dr. Vaupotic holds multiple advanced certifications in implantology, oral surgery, endodontics, and anesthesiology.

At Livonia Family Smiles, Dr. Vaupotic emphasizes gentleness and compassion and is devoted to providing thorough, tailored, and quality patient care. He is fascinated by every aspect of dentistry but is particularly interested in how root canal therapy saves smiles and extractions help patients get out of pain. Dr. Vaupotic carefully listens to each patient's concerns, performs comprehensive examinations, and creates individualized treatment plans.

Dr. Hana Gadalla, BDS, MS - Board Certified Periodontist & Implant Specialist

After earning her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in 2007 in Libya, Dr. Hana Gadalla pursued additional education in maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, and implant dentistry over the next 3 years before coming to Michigan. Knowing the critical importance of communication, Dr. Gadalla attended the American Language program at Ohio State University before pursuing her specialty education in periodontics: a Certificate of Fellowship in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry from the University of Florida. She completed her periodontics residency at the University of Detroit Mercy, has been a Board-Certified Periodontist since 2016, and is certified to provide IV sedation.

Dr. Emad Hajar - General Dentist

Dr. Emad Hajar earned his DDS at the prestigious University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. After attending school, Dr. Hajar fell in love with Detroit and Dearborn, and loves watching the cities grow and evolve..

Dr. El Saghir, DMD - General Dentist

Dr. Leila El Saghir achieved her doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2017. She is passionate about continuing education that enables her to meet the unique needs of her patients.

Dr. El Saghir is passionate about improving the dental health of our community members. Focused on providing patient-centric treatments and procedures with trusted technologies and techniques, she loves seeing her patients’ confidence increase along their dental health journey. In addition to a wide array of general dentistry services, she provides emergency care and is particularly interested in cosmetic treatments and procedures that positively impact the way her patients look, speak, eat, smile, and interact with others. Dr. Karl Winter, MBA, FICOI, DICOI - Implantologist

Dr. Karl Winter has multiple decades of clinical experience in restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1982 and completed both surgical and prosthetic certifications at the Misch Implant Institute in 1990.

Dr. Winter worked closely with the late Dr. Carl Misch, a respected leader in implant dentistry, and later continued his work at the same practice in Beverly Hills, MI, in 2014. He is a Fellow and Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), with years of expertise in providing a wide variety of implant types and procedures. He is also part of Atlas Implant Dentistry, where he’s pleased to provide advanced implant care.

Dr. Winter is actively involved in dental education, serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he provides instruction and mentorship in restorative and implant dentistry. He is also the founder of the Elite Implant Institute, a continuing education program that provides training for general dentists interested in integrating implant procedures into their practices.

When he isn’t caring for smiles, Dr. Winter enjoys spending time outdoors skiing, hiking, and playing soccer.

Dr. Fadhela Salah, MSD Endodontics - Board Certified Endodontist

Dr. Salah originally studied dentistry in her homeland of Libya. She then obtained a certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in endodontics and a Master of Science degree in endodontics from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Saher S. Soliman, DDS – General Dentist

A strong academic foundation laid the groundwork for Dr. Saher S. Soliman’s career, which spans 24 years. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001 from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where he also completed his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry. After graduation, Dr. Soliman entered private practice and has since owned and managed multiple dental offices, while also serving as an associate in several large group practices.

Dr. Soliman immigrated from Alexandria, Egypt, and grew up in Metro Detroit, which shaped his commitment to welcoming and respecting patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. He focuses on active listening and sincere communication so individuals feel comfortable, understood, and confident in their care. He enjoys providing a wide range of general dental services, with a particular interest in root canals, full-mouth reconstruction, dentures, and cosmetic options such as Invisalign®.
